Festival delle Regioni: Basilicata between innovation and tradition

From 18 to 20 May, Venice will host the Festival of the Regions, an important event dedicated to the valorization of the cultural and productive identities of the different Italian territorial realities. Basilicata, in particular, will have its own exhibition space where it will highlight its peculiarities, with a focus on how tourism can intertwine with innovation.

The theme of the 2023 edition

Basilicata, with its rich history and traditions, aims to show how these can be enhanced through modern and sustainable initiatives. Participation in this festival is not only a way to promote the territory, but also to attract investments and develop synergies between the different local realities.

Unmissable events during the festival

Among the events scheduled, the presentation of “Sport in Regione” stands out, which will take place on Monday, May 19. Basilicata will host the first stage of the national event on June 19 in Matera, an opportunity to discuss opportunities related to sport and sports infrastructure. The president of the Lucanian Regional Council, Vito Bardi, will announce this initiative, underlining the importance of collaborating with local authorities and stakeholders to promote sports activities and access to credit. In addition, there will be a speech dedicated to the metaverse, by Gaetano Torchia, and a presentation on tourism in Basilicata by Margherita Sarli, who will highlight the authenticity of the places.

The festival will end on Tuesday 20 May with a speech by Bardi on multilevel governance and the principle of loyal collaboration between the State and the Regions.
