(Adnkronos) – “On the very day of the inauguration of Gorizia and Nova Gorica as European Capital of Culture and close to 10 February, someone thought it a good idea to commit yet another vile act by vandalizing the foiba. An unacceptable act that shows how, unfortunately, 'the mother of imbeciles is always pregnant'. I hope that the condemnation of this act comes from all political forces, including the Anpi and those self-styled historians who have distinguished themselves in spreading denialist theses, to send a clear message: there must be no room for supporters of such shameful actions". This is what the senator and secretary of the Lega Friuli Venezia Giulia, Marco Dreosto, says.
"I hope that the Digos will be able to identify those responsible and that they will be punished not only by forcing them to clean the monument, but also by imposing a period of volunteering at Magazzino 18 and during the commemorations of February 10. Perhaps - concludes Dreosto - they will be able to understand the value of memory, even if, frankly, I have strong doubts about it".
