Rome, 8 Feb. (Adnkronos) – "The outrage committed against the monument that commemorates the victims of the Basovizza Foiba demonstrates the moral and human abyss of those who perpetrated that vile act". This is what Piero Fassino, a member of the Democratic Party and vice-president of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber, says.
"The Day of Remembrance, which is celebrated on February 10th of each year, was established unanimously by Parliament - he recalls - precisely to recognize a tragic page of Italian history that has been forgotten for too long and to restore honor and justice to those who were its victims. The wicked action of some nostalgic will not tarnish the value of a memory in which all Italians can recognize themselves".
