Rome, June 13 (Adnkronos) – “In an economic context marked by instability and weak growth, Italian companies continue to demonstrate courage, vision and the ability to innovate. But that is not enough. We need concrete political choices: less bureaucracy, more investment in training, digital and artificial intelligence”. This is what the president of the deputies of Italia Viva Maria Elena Boschi said, speaking at the entrepreneur festival underway in Rome.

"The market has changed and we are behind, as Italy and as Europe. The gap between Europe and the United States, in terms of GDP and investments in innovation, is now structural. Just think that in 2025 the first three American big tech companies plan to invest over 300 billion dollars in artificial intelligence, compared to the 800 million allocated by the Italian government. This imbalance - he underlines - risks compromising the competitiveness of our industrial system in the coming years. The others are running, we risk remaining still".

"And yet our excellence, from agri-food to fashion, from manufacturing to creativity, demonstrates that we can still compete, if we put businesses in a position to do so. Politics has the duty to guide change, not to chase it, and innovation must become a strategic priority. Artificial intelligence is a lever for development, but without a decisive investment in human capital and technology, the risk is to widen the gap, not reduce it", he concludes.
