Garlasco Case, Marco Panzarasa's Name Returns: Who Is Alberto Stasi's Friend?

The name of Marco Panzarasa had already emerged in the investigations on the murder of Chiara Poggi in Garlasco, which took place on August 13, 2007. Considered Alberto Stasi's "best friend", Panzarasa attended the Omodeo scientific high school in Mortara with him, where they graduated in 2002. After graduation, the two followed different university paths: Stasi studied Economics at Bocconi, Panzarasa Law. In July 2007, the two left for a study stay in England to improve English, reached then also by Chiara Poggi.

La evening of the murder, Panzarasa was questioned by the Carabinieri around 20 pm and, after a holiday in Spain, was interrogated again for five hours. On the day of the crime, in the morning, he was in Liguria before returning to Garlasco.

Dai telephone records of Stasi emerged an intense exchange of calls with Panzarasa, up to 10-15 a day, more frequent than the contacts with his girlfriend. In the trial, the general prosecutor Laura Barbaini highlighted how Stasi, Panzarasa and another friend, Simone Piazzon, were at the center of a "triangle of communications" that began two days before the crime, fueling further suspicions about their involvement.
