Rome, 25 Jan (Adnkronos) – "This government is bringing us into the topsy-turvy world of the right that is giving away public healthcare to private individuals and that thinks that with healthcare sovereignty epidemics will be avoided. The reality, with data in hand, tells us that the government is forcing millions of citizens to give up on treatment". This is what the president of the Democratic Party senators Francesco Boccia says.
"Instead of calling for the exit from the WHO to kneel before Trump, Giorgia Meloni and Matteo Salvini should respond to the appeal that also came today from the Medical Associations who said 'no' to the privatization of public health - continues Boccia -. The president of Fnomceo Anelli underlined the value not only social but also economic of the work of doctors. 'A euro invested in the NHS', said Anelli, 'generates double. It is an extraordinary driving force for development for the country'".
"We would like to know how the government plans to respond to this appeal. We are convinced that the only way forward is to invest resources in public health and for this reason we will continue to be in front of health facilities, hospitals, medical centers to explain to citizens that more money is needed to protect everyone's health, to eliminate waiting lists and guarantee the NHS", concludes Boccia.
