Milan, June 23 (Adnkronos Salute) – "Associations play a fundamental role in providing support to patients and families. Very often, in fact, patients are completely lost and do not know who to turn to and associations represent a point where they can find the educational support they need, but they can also find other patients with whom they can share their hopes and emotions.

Therefore, it is an individual experience, which becomes collective". This was stated by Giulia Levrero, delegate of the Italian Association of Heart Failure Patients (Aisc), during the inauguration in Milan of 'Quore imperfetto', the Novartis installation as part of the 'Da Quore a Cuore in un gesto' campaign. During the event, Novartis also presented new data from an Iqvia Italia study on 'Lost in Treatment' patients.

"Communication and awareness - Levrero emphasizes - are fundamental aspects: if we do not communicate messages to patients, they cannot learn and cannot evolve. Therefore, communication is the first step. The general practitioner and the specialist, in these moments, are fundamental: the general practitioner is the person who follows the patient almost on a daily basis, while the specialist provides much more technical support. Therefore, a dialogue between doctor and patient is certainly necessary, but also between healthcare professionals: a multidisciplinary team capable of truly coordinating for complete patient care".
