An unexpected arrival
The surprise visit of Kimbal Musk, the famous entrepreneur and brother of Elon Musk, to Palazzo Chigi took many by surprise. Wearing his characteristic cowboy hat, Musk arrived in the afternoon, accompanied by Andrea Stroppa, the Italian representative for the founder of Tesla and SpaceX. The meeting, described as an informational tour of the various ministries, immediately raised questions and controversy.
The mysterious project
Veronica Berti, wife of tenor Andrea Bocelli, confirmed that the goal of the visit was to understand the functioning of Italian ministries for an unspecified project. However, the lack of details fueled criticism from the opposition. The Democratic Party expressed dismay, stressing that Palazzo Chigi should not become a “Musk dependency” and asking for clarification on the mysterious project. Berti's words did not allay concerns, on the contrary, they increased the demand for transparency.
Political reactions
Political reactions were not long in coming. Enzo Maraio of the PSI called on the government not to bow to the economic powers, while Elisabetta Piccolotti of Avs asked for clarity, stating that Italy is not a Trump colony. Riccardo Magi of +Europa also joked about the situation, asking the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, to clarify the details of the meeting in Parliament. Giuli, for his part, tried to downplay it, stating that they had spoken “only of good things”, but without providing further information.
