Rome, 30 April (Adnkronos) – "In the hours in which Meloni offends Italian workers, shamefully lying about wage levels in the country and promising spot measures without real tools and resources on workplace safety, we note that the government continues to pretend nothing is happening about the devastating effect of Trump's duties, without taking any action to defend the economy and the social and employment stability of the country which risks losing 6 billion in exports, 25 thousand businesses and 60 thousand workers, with growth estimates halved".

Piero De Luca, PD deputy and group leader in the European policies commission, said this on Tagadà on La7.

"The Prime Minister, busy taking photo opportunities with the US President, has not made Italy safe: she arrived late and badly with measures that are smoke and mirrors, like those - which smack of a joke - announced today on the eve of Labor Day. Her majority has not yet understood that some duties are already in force, without considering that one of her two vice-premiers, even sees in the disaster of the duties themselves an opportunity for Italy. It is quite clear that the Government is going in disarray and has no clear ideas about anything. From this point of view, moreover, the enormous divisions in foreign policy emerge that the deafening silence of the Prime Minister cannot mask".

"The executive is divided on the International Criminal Court, on European defense, on the Draghi plan and the strategic autonomy of Europe, on the Russian aggression against Ukraine. The weapons of mass distraction used by the prime minister cannot erase a fact of reality: this government is in disarray, it is doing nothing to defend the interests of Italian workers and businesses, and it is not ensuring credibility and international authority for the country".
