Milan, 25 Jan. (Adnkronos) – Paolo Aurelio Errante Parrino, considered the "point of reference for the Castelvetrano District in Northern Italy", linked to Cosa Nostra boss Matteo Messina Denaro, is missing from the over 150 people under investigation in the 'Hydra' investigation by the Milan DDA. The prison order, which came after the Supreme Court rejected his appeal, has not been executed (at the moment) by the Carabinieri who rang his doorbell this morning, Saturday 25 January, in Abbiategrasso, a town on the outskirts of Milan.

Already sentenced to ten years for mafia-type criminal association, the 77-year-old is considered a contact person in the Lombardy area of the Trapani clan and indicated as "'man of honor of the Castelvetrano family', with decision-making, planning and identification tasks of the actions to be taken and the strategies to be adopted for the realization of the illicit purposes of the association". For the anti-mafia prosecutors, Errante Parrino is the point of reference for the Castelvetrano district in Northern Italy "maintaining relations with the top brass of Cosa Nostra, in particular, with Matteo Messina Denaro, he represents "the point of contact between the Lombard mafia system and the former fugitive, transferring to him communications relating to topics that are fatal for the association".

A vision not shared by the judge. In October 2023, the investigating judge Tommaso Perna had not shared the Milan prosecutor's system on the existence in Lombardy of an alleged "pact" between the three main criminal organizations in the country - mafia, 'ndrangheta and camorra - and had rejected 140 requests for arrests for 153 suspects and ordered prison sentences for only 11 people accused of various crimes, but not accused of mafia association. No to the arrest of Paolo Aurelio Errante Parrino against whom the prosecutor's office appealed to the Review Court, obtaining a favorable opinion, a judgment confirmed yesterday by the Cassation which is also called, next week, to decide on other appeals (about ten people have already been arrested in recent days).
