Rome, 18 (Adnkronos) – "In recent days we have welcomed the European Commission's proposal on the reform of the European legislative framework on repatriations, through the transition from a Directive to a Regulation directly applicable in the 27 Member States. We consider it an extremely significant development, also to harmonize the practices of the different Member States and make the repatriation action of those who are not entitled to be welcomed on European territory even more effective.
It is essential that the European Union becomes effective in this: if you enter Europe illegally, you cannot remain on our territory, you must be repatriated". This was stated by the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, in communications to the Senate in view of the next European Council.
