Since March 7, 26 Italian motorways have seen the introduction of the new system control of the average speed, the Tutor 3.0. An advanced technological system that promises to change the way speed is monitored on our roads. Thus improving safety on our roads. But when it comes into operation? Bene, il sistema è già operativo su tratte cruciali come l’A1, l’A9, l’A11, l’A14, l’A27, e la D18.
Vediamone rischi e tolerance.
Tutor 3.0: what are the risks for those who exceed the speed limit
This is not a simple speed camera. No, the Tutor 3.0 is a monitoring continuous, capable of measuring the average speed over long stretches of motorway.
If you find it on your way, it's best not to try to evade it – high-resolution cameras and advanced sensors are no exception.
Il Tutor 3.0 is much harder to get around. How does it do it? Here's the trick: a system that measures average speed over distances of up to tens of kilometers. Cameras and sensors are strategically placed to monitor traffic in real time. And it doesn't matter if it's raining, foggy, or visibility is poor. It works even in difficult weather conditions. But be careful, if you're speeding along, there are many risks. Fines for exceeding the limits range from 42 euros up to 3.389 euros. And if you think that it won't hit you because they only stop you if you go way over the limit, you're wrong. Just 10 km/h over the limit can cost you a fine of between 42 and 170 euros. But the most striking thing is the points on the license. Yes, because the more serious the violation, the more points go away, and sometimes even the suspension of the license is inevitable.
Tutor 3.0: when does it come into operation and what is the tolerance?
There is a tolerance, however. It is not an infinite margin, but we are talking about about 5% of the speed limit. For example, if the limit is 130 km/h, the system will consider 136,5 km/h as acceptable. A bit of breathing space, in short. But do not fool yourself: the system is not always lenient. Each violation will be evaluated case by case, and the more you exceed the limit, the greater the risk of incurring heavy fines.
Il Tutor 3.0 It's not just a matter of fines, though. It's a real strategy to increase safety on our highways. Designed by Autostrade per l'Italia and the State Police, the system is developed on the Navigard technology platform. In short, we are facing a technological revolution. And like any new technology, it is not perfect, but it is certainly more difficult to circumvent than in the past.
