Chiara Petrolini, 22 years old, accused of having killed and buried her two newborn babies in Vignate di Traversetolo (Parma), she defined herself not as “crazy”, but as “a weak and lonely person who was afraid." He stated this during a meeting with the technical consultants of the Parma Public Prosecutor's Office, Mario Amore and Domenico Berardi, on November 22, 2024, answering questions about the possible judgment of a psychiatrist.
During the interviews, a picture of great loneliness and fragility emerged: “I have a hard time sharing it, I keep it all inside” and again, “I don't feel understood by justice... prison scares me, I hope to stay at home always, I never thought I did anything wrong".
Petrolini is currently at the arrest, pending the outcome of the assessment of his mental capacity, entrusted to two experts appointed by the Assize Court, while the prosecution's consultants reiterated in court his full mental capacity and the absence of psychiatric disorders.

The two pregnancies of Chiara would have been completely secret: the first in May 2023, unwanted, and the second in August 2024, desired as a sort of "revenge on myselfNo one, neither her parents nor her ex-boyfriend and father of the children, was aware of her condition, although the girl specified:
“I had a belly, it's a myth that I had a flat stomach. Nobody saw it, but I had it.”
After the births, Chiara said she thought the babies were stillborn and hid everything, continuing to live her daily life, such as going to the beautician:
“After what I did I tried to cover everything up, trying to eliminate this bad thing that happened, so I did what I had always done.”
Despite everything, the young woman still has the desire to start over:
"My dream is to be an elementary school teacher or Nido, I'm studying for that".
The consultants noted that his behavior reflects the psychological profiles observed in cases of neonatocide, characterized by emotional fragility and isolation, but without evidence of major psychiatric disorders.
