Kananaskis (Canada), June 18 (askanews) – “I believe this is a moment in which we can reach a ceasefire in Gaza.
I shared this feeling of mine with all the people I spoke to in these days and with all the people who were at the summit and I found convergence, so much so that this common position is in the final G7 document".
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said this, speaking to journalists at the end of the G7.
"It means - he added - that we are all convinced that we must push for this result. After that, since I have read the Italian peace plan, what do I think should happen next if there were a ceasefire of the people? You know that I have always supported the reconstruction plan presented by the Arab countries. I believe that the role of the Arab countries, especially the Gulf countries, in this phase in the region is a fundamental role and I believe that we must as much as possible support the responsibility of these countries in helping us find a solution on Gaza. So in the case of a ceasefire I would start from there".
