New election for Constitutional Court judge fails again: necessary votes missing

Another failed attempt in the assembled Parliament to choose a new judge of the Constitutional Court, who must take the place of former President Silvana Sciarra, whose mandate ended on November 11, 2023. Voting number eight also did not produce results, with 342 members present and able to vote, 9 dispersed ballots, 10 invalid and 323 blank.

To proceed with the election, 363 votes were needed, corresponding to three-fifths of the 605 parliamentarians present.
