Rome, 9 Jan. (Adnkronos Salute) – After eight years in the company as Vaccines Policy & Communication Director, Marina Panfilo joins the Leadership Team of Msd Italia in the role of Executive Director Policy, Communication & ESG Strategy. Over the course of her 40-year career in the multinational pharmaceutical industry – as stated in a note – Panfilo has admirably held various management roles at a national and international level, ranging from Business Development to Market Access, up to the Policy & Communication function. She has gladly accepted to take the helm of this last area, deciding to cover a delicate and, at the same time, strategic position on which Msd has always placed particular attention, starting with its president and CEO, Nicoletta Luppi.
This is a central role that involves not only the promotion of political initiatives at European, national and regional level, but also requires the ability to establish and maintain a constructive dialogue with the main stakeholders of the Italian institutional and healthcare system. Thanks to the valuable work of professionals in the fields of policy, communication and ESG, Msd has distinguished itself over the years as a valuable company, obtaining important recognitions such as 'Best in Media Communication' by Eikon/Fortune and, more recently, 'Champion of Sustainability' by Forbes for its commitment to CSR.
“Marina’s leadership will be essential to ensure that our voice is heard and represented,” Luppi said. “I am absolutely convinced that Marina’s consolidated experience and skills in the pharmaceutical sector will allow us to move forward with determination towards our primary objective: protecting and improving Patients’ access to care and preventive medicine. Her strategic vision and passion for the subject will be essential in guiding us through the challenges ahead.” Panfilo added: “I am proud to continue to be part of the ‘Msd family’ to which I am particularly attached and of which I have been a part since 2017. Msd is a company that brings innovation in science for people’s health, in corporate culture, in communication, in entrepreneurial strategies and invests in Research & Development more than any other company in the sector. But what makes the difference and is a source of pride is above all a culture that puts its human capital at the center and a great commitment to actively promoting the values of diversity, equity and inclusion in which it has always believed. What makes Msd unique – she concludes – is the value it generates for Italian society and the economy, as well as the attention it pays to employees and their families, and I am honored to be part of it”.
