Rome, 29 April (Adnkronos) – The Assembly of over 1000 Consortium Members has approved the 2024 Budget of the National Consortium for the Management, Collection and Treatment of Used Mineral Oils, with a presence of over 72% of the participation shares. The Assembly also ratified the inclusion in the board of directors of Marco Codognola (CEO of Itelyum) after the resignation of Antonio Lazzarinetti, a historic and important presence in the Conou Board of Directors, representing Regeneration, for almost twenty years.
President Piunti, confirmed last year at the helm of Conou, archives a 2024 of brilliant performances, despite a lubricant market down 2%. The Consortium has managed to increase its activity, collecting more than 188 thousand tons (approximately 5.000 vs 2023) despite the market trend, maximizing efforts in the further recovery of oils from emulsions.
Rigenerazione has brilliantly supported this effort by producing over 121 thousand tons of quality bases. The 98% circularity has been preserved thanks to the constant attention to quality. The environmental contribution has however been kept at minimum levels and intended to support the performance of the supply chain companies.
"The battle for quality, the key to our success - says Riccardo Piunti, president of Conou - was also addressed by fulfilling the transparency commitments made with the Competition and Market Authority, after the investigation concluded in 2024, without finding any infringements. We also worked on governance, strengthening the Consortium's leadership team and improving control and compliance, with effective monthly management control and obtaining the new certification for Gender Equality".
“We will continue along the path we have undertaken, further strengthening our proximity to the companies of our virtuous network of collection and regeneration of used oil and investing in innovation,” concludes President Piunti.
