New Conductions and Program Closures: The Future of Italian Television

Paolo Bonolis's future at Mediaset

The recent maneuvers within Mediaset have sparked a heated debate among industry insiders and the public. Paolo Bonolis, one of the most well-known faces of Italian television, seems destined to remain in the Biscione group. According to Dagospia, there have already been agreements for the renewal of his contract, but there is no shortage of controversy. The presence of Sonia Bruganelli, who could accompany Bonolis on his journey, has raised some discontent among the executives of Cologno Monzese. In fact, Bruganelli is not only a central figure in the television landscape, but also manages the casting of several productions, making her position strategic and controversial.

The new management and projects in progress

Another hot topic concerns the conduction of “L'Isola dei Famosi”. Mediaset is reportedly considering entrusting the helm to Veronica Gentili, currently at the helm of “Le Iene”. This choice surprised many, given that Ilary Blasi was the favorite for the role, but she stated that she was not interested in returning. Gentili, therefore, finds herself in pole position for a program that has always aroused great interest and ratings. Furthermore, Dagospia confirmed the exit of Can Yaman from the cast of “Viola come il mare 3”, with the production already working to find a weighty replacement, possibly a Turkish star.

Closures and New Beginnings: The Fate of Some Programs

Despite the changes, there is also less positive news. “Sabato in Diretta”, hosted by Emma D'Aquino, seems destined to close its doors in May, with ratings that stand between 10% and 11% share. This is a clear sign that the public is looking for something different. Furthermore, the project for a new format of “Carramba che sorpresa” has been blocked, with Alessia Marcuzzi who has decided not to continue to avoid comparisons with the legendary Raffaella Carrà. The search for an alternative title is already underway, while the auditions for “Reazione a Catena” have seen the participation of six candidates, but the confirmation of Pino Insegno is not excluded.
