Milan, 6 Feb. (Adnkronos) – "There are some imprisoned soldiers who need to be freed by paying a ransom". This is the excuse that, in one case, was used by someone who, pretending to be Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, defrauded two entrepreneurs, who reported the incident to the Carabinieri and the Milan prosecutor's office. Three other wealthy entrepreneurs were contacted by the scammers who, also using artificial intelligence to disguise the voices – of the minister, of a self-styled Defense official or a general – tried to obtain large transfers by phone. The prosecutor Giovanni Tarzia is investigating the incidents.
