Reggio Emilia, March 13 (Adnkronos/Labitalia) – "Last year we exceeded 900.000 tons, which is equivalent to approximately 70 million pallets regenerated and put back on the market, so it is a very important economy, there are thousands of jobs that are occupied by both small and large companies and which therefore help in the environmental sustainability of the entire wooden packaging sector in Italy".
This was stated by Nicola Semeraro, president of Rilegno, who spoke today in Reggio Emilia at the general states of companies active in the repair, reuse and management of pallets, an event promoted by Conlegno with the participation of Rilegno to take stock of regulatory developments, technical innovations and development opportunities in the sector.
“We must not forget that Italy is one of the countries in Europe, and I think also on a global level, that has done an extraordinary job in the last 25 years, so it has created a real industry which is that of the creation of the panel that then goes to feed the furniture industry, so let's say that it is a system that very well receives the quantity of wood which is in any case very high, that in Italy is collected and recovered”, he said.
