Milan, May 13 (Adnkronos) – "Our commitment against climate change and deforestation and in favor of protecting biodiversity and water resources has earned us the triple A in the CDP certification. We are the only company in the world to have obtained this certification for nine years in a row, a result that truly shows our commitment, which has continued for many years, on the issue".
Ninell Sobiecka, President and CEO of L'Oréal Italia, said this at the 2025 edition of L'Oréal For The Future Day, the event with which the Group presents the results and objectives in terms of social and environmental sustainability, one of the key principles of L'Oréal's strategy.
“L’Oréal’s commitment to sustainability began forty years ago. In 2013, we launched our first program in this area,” explains Sobiecka, “and in 2020, our most recent program, ‘L’Oréal for the future’, was born. Our commitment to sustainability is based on three pillars: the first is the internal transformation of processes, of our way of working and of how we make products. The second is external and involves involving our suppliers, customers and consumers in this transformation. The third and final pillar is that of financial investments aimed at solving both environmental and social sustainability issues, with great attention to female empowerment. Our active involvement in the challenges for greater sustainability has also been recognized by independent NGOs.”
“This is the tenth time we have organised this event, the fourth as part of the L'Oréal for the Future programme, and the reason why we are here, extremely excited, is the second pillar I was talking about earlier: we are convinced that it is essential to involve everyone in the sustainability process that has been started. Only by working together – explains the President and CEO of L'Oréal Italia – with customers, suppliers and NGOs, can we achieve a radical and significant transformation”. The involvement and awareness of the new generations is also of great importance, as Ninell Sobiecka concludes: “We are particularly happy to have held this event at the Iulm University of Milan, making it possible to involve students in our masterclass on sustainability. I believe that one of the main challenges for the new generations is precisely that of finding solutions to complex and pressing problems such as environmental and social ones. Young people therefore have an important role to play, also using new technologies and tools that can really help transform our planet. We are counting on them and I am absolutely confident that they will be able to achieve their goal”.
