The entrepreneur has become the symbol of a fight against intimidation after the local police carried out checks on her shop following the display of a sheet with the words “25 Aprile buono come il pane bello come l'antifascismo”.

The local police justified their action by saying they had acted professionally, but Lorenza described the officers' behavior as "absolutely intimidating." "They asked me if I would take responsibility for a banner on my building, my home building," she said, stressing that this behavior was unacceptable. Support for Lorenza was not long in coming. MEP Matteo Ricci invited citizens to join him in “buying anti-fascist bread,” creating an event that drew dozens of people to Piazza Arrigo, 26. The demonstration was characterized by hugs, bouquets of flowers, and the singing of “Bella ciao,” a resistance anthem that resonated loud and clear.
