Today, operations to remove the rubble from the building that collapsed on Via De Amicis, in Bari, which occurred on March 5, began. The Municipality of Bari announced that the work has been entrusted to the Cericola company, chosen through a procedure negotiated by the municipal administration. This intervention is essential to guarantee the safety of the area and to restore normality in the neighborhood.

Checks and inspections

This morning, an inspection was carried out on the construction site by the judicial police and health authorities. The aim of this inspection was to verify the organization of the work and to ensure that all the requirements are respected. The mayor of Bari, Vito Leccese, was present to monitor the situation and ensure that the operations are carried out efficiently and safely.

Removal operation details

The actual removal of the rubble will begin tomorrow, with the help of an excavator, a mini shovel and a team of six workers, including four sorters and two movers. These workers will be coordinated by qualified technical personnel, to ensure that the operations are conducted in compliance with safety regulations. According to the schedule, it will take about thirty working days to complete the intervention.

Environmental analysis in progress

In the meantime, the analyses conducted by Ecotrend, a specialized company commissioned by the Municipality of Bari, continue to detect the presence of airborne asbestos fibers in the air of the construction site. The latest survey, carried out from April 18 to 20, confirmed the absence of asbestos fibers in the collapse area, thus reassuring the local community regarding environmental safety.
