Adnkronos Rome, 18 March (Adnkronos) – "We once again express our concern for what is happening in Syria, in particular after the latest brutal attacks that saw militias linked to the new transitional government kill hundreds of civilians, mostly belonging to the Alawite minority, but also hitting the Christian minority.
Together with our European partners, we are committed to calling on the new Government to ensure a democratic transition, based on respect and full inclusion of all ethnic and religious minorities, starting with the Alawite, Christian and Kurdish ones". This was stated by the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, in her communications to the Senate on the next European Council.
"The fight against terrorism is another crucial aspect. There must be no room for a new ISIS resurgence or ambiguity towards groups that intend to make Syria a base for terrorist organizations. Only compliance with these conditions - the prime minister concluded - will allow the implementation of the withdrawal of sanctions and restrictive measures that began weeks ago".
