The process of validating the arrest took place at the Pisa prison. Dal Pino is accused of intentionally killing the man who robbed her of her purse, and the prosecutor's office had requested that she be sent to prison as a precautionary measure. Dal Pino, according to her lawyer, said: "I didn't want to kill him, I just wanted to stop the thief by hitting him in the legs" and added that his client "is feeling great pain and deep regret."
