The European context and reunification

This call to Ukrainian heroism serves not only to recognize the courage of a people in struggle, but also to strengthen the European identity, which is based on freedom and human dignity. The Prime Minister reiterated Italy's support for Ukraine, stressing that Europe's security and freedom depend on the end of the war and the restoration of legality.
Towards a ceasefire and a peace agreement
At a time of high international tension, Meloni urged that recent difficulties in negotiations should not be seen as a setback, but rather as an opportunity to resolutely insist on an unconditional ceasefire. She stressed the importance of a peace agreement that guarantees the security of Ukraine, highlighting Italy's willingness to do whatever is necessary to achieve this goal. The prime minister also highlighted how the world is starting to understand who is truly willing to negotiate for peace and who, on the contrary, is not. This message of hope and determination is crucial at a time when European stability is being severely tested.
