Milan, June 13 (askanews) – Three years after their last recording project, Il Pagante releases Fomo, their fourth studio album under exclusive license MAST / Believe. It is the first work made by the duo, composed of Roberta Branchini (Brancar) and Edoardo Cremona (Eddy Veerus), the beating heart of the multi-platinum collective born in Milan and on the crest of the trend for 15 years.
Anticipated by an iconic teaser with the special participation of Maccio Capatonda, Fomo concentrates intuitions, styles, trends and contaminations that have inspired Il Pagante in these last years studded with singles and sold-out live nights. A reflection of the duo's personal and artistic growth, track after track the album photographs with lucidity and irreverent irony the social anxieties of the contemporary generation, suspended between the desire to always be there and the tiredness of having to prove it.
The heart of the story is precisely the Fear Of Missing Out, the fear of being forgotten socially, of being left out of the loop: a subtle and silent anxiety that pushes you to constantly be in the right place at the right time, even when you don't feel like it, even when it's not needed. An increasingly widespread feeling that afflicts not only Gen Z, but anyone who lives immersed in the frenetic rhythms of social media and urban life. Social media play a central role in this "game", both actively and passively. It all starts from the construction of a virtual image to be nurtured, cared for, optimized. A digital world in which Il Pagante was born over ten years ago and which, from a simple side dish to real life, has now become an integral - if not all-encompassing - part of existence. Social media also gives rise to the social comparison to which we are all subjected today, willingly or not: from the lifestyle we lead to what we wear, from what we eat to the places we frequent. And above all the fact that showing others our life has become almost more important than living it. This is where FOMO starts, where if you are not in the “place to be, you don’t exist”. With his unmistakable style, Il Pagante makes it the center of a storytelling that mixes awareness and sarcasm, where the starting point is always her, Milan - a symbolic city and perfect stage for this social frenzy. Not only the moral capital of Italy, but also the European epicenter of that hunger for presence that defines our era.
