London, March 18 (Adnkronos) – King Charles and Queen Camilla are celebrating 20 years of marriage this year. It seems that the two spend "a lot of time apart". Is this perhaps the secret to their happiness?

The king and his wife, who will celebrate their wedding on April 9, are said to spend their weekends apart. Camilla retreats to her beloved but "messy" Wiltshire country house without Charles every weekend, according to Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, who said that "the monarchs actually spend a lot of time apart.

Ray Mill's house is, if you like, a kind of liberation from real life for Camilla. Before marrying Charles, she made a pact with him: she would keep that house as a refuge".

"She goes every weekend when she can, and she goes in the summer to spend time with her grandchildren and her children, and it's something that takes her away from the whole royal world and where she goes mostly to relax," the royal expert says. "She doesn't go to Highgrove very often unless she and Charles have other commitments. It's about getting away from the security restrictions and being surrounded by staff and people who do things for you, which, obviously, would be wonderful for all of us. I think for her, she needs somewhere where she can actually relax and just be herself, and walk around in dirty jeans if she wants to, without being constantly monitored."

A source told the Express that Camilla "can sit at the Ray Mill with a big G&T, take her shoes off and watch Coronation Street, which Charles hates."

The King, on the other hand, often goes to Highgrove or Sandringham when he is free at weekends, while during the week the two live together at Clarence House. Camilla's country seat in Wiltshire was in the news last week, when it was revealed that the King had bought a neighbouring house, which would be used as a wedding venue, for £3 million to protect his wife's privacy.
