A tragic epilogue
The story of Andrea Prospero, a young Roman of only 18 years old, ended dramatically on January 29 in Perugia. His death, which occurred after ingesting a lethal mix of benzodiazepines and oxycodone, raised disturbing questions about the responsibilities of those who guided him in chat to this tragic act.
The 18-year-old who interacted with him, now under house arrest, has shown incredible indifference to the boy's suffering, allowing horrifying details to emerge from conversations that took place before the tragedy.
The Creepy Chat
The investigation revealed that, while Andrea stopped responding, his interlocutor invited another user to join the conversation, with phrases such as “Come in, talk to a dead person”. This behavior raised questions about the nature of communication between young people and the lack of timely intervention. Although there was a mention of the possibility of calling an ambulance, the decision not to do so had fatal consequences. The chat, which should have been a place of support, turned into a ground of incitement to suicide.
Legal responsibilities
The investigating judge of the Perugia court, Margherita Amodeo, expressed her belief that the 18-year-old accused of incitement to suicide could not have thought that Andrea was joking. His words, such as “Eat all 7 pills and that’s it,” highlight worrying and irresponsible behavior. The prosecutor’s office is now carefully examining the evidence, including Andrea’s 46 SIM cards and electronic devices, to fully understand the dynamics of this tragic story. It has emerged that Andrea may have been involved in small-time online scams, an aspect that could reveal further details about his life and the people around him.
