Two Arrests for Thefts in the Gold Sector in Arezzo

Joint investigations between police and carabinieri lead to significant results

Two arrests for thefts in the gold sector

Two Romanian men were arrested in Arezzo as part of an investigation conducted by the Flying Squad and the Carabinieri. The arrests occurred following thefts committed in goldsmith firms in the province. The two individuals, who came from outside the province, were stopped after the preliminary investigations judge validated their arrest, ordering their pre-trial detention in prison. The crimes charged include a theft that occurred on November 28 and an attempted theft that occurred on November 22.

Investigations and discoveries

The investigation began thanks to the report of a suspicious man spotted in a bar. The latter, with clothes and boots covered in mud, had asked to make a phone call. Stopped by the military, it emerged that the man had connections with the theft that had taken place nearby. During the control operations, a Lancia Y car was also stopped, on board of which was the second arrested person. The car, which was moving erratically and cautiously near a dirt road, was presumably used by the thieves to escape into the countryside after the robbery.

The gang's hideout

The investigations, conducted jointly by the Carabinieri and the police, led to the discovery of the gang's hideout, located outside the province. During a search, elements were found that unequivocally confirmed the involvement of the thieves in the thefts. The Prefect of Arezzo expressed his praise for the investigative activity, underlining the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies. This case highlights the effectiveness of joint investigations and the positive result obtained thanks to the coordinated work of the police and the Carabinieri.
