Tragedy in the Adda, 17-year-old dives into the river and does not resurface: body found after hours of searching

In Cassano d'Adda, in the Milanese area, it took place a tragedy. A young man 17enne he dived without resurfacing. The body was found a few hours ago, after hours of research in the right corner of the Rusca Dam.

Drama in the Adda, 17-year-old dives and doesn't resurface: what happened 

The young man 17enne of Moldavian origins, he disappeared yesterday afternoon, Sunday 15 June, after a dive in the waters of the Adda river, to combat the summer heat.

But what happened? And how was he found?

The investigations and the disappearance

The alarm was raised around 17pm yesterday, Sunday 30 June, when the healthier skin never re-emerged from the waters of theAdda where he had dived. The Fire Brigade of the provincial command of Milan, the 118 rescuers and the Carabinieri immediately intervened on the scene. 

Due to heavy rains in the area late yesterday afternoon, rescuers had to interrupt their search operations, due to the presence of mud that made the water even more cloudy. The search will also be supported by drones, which will fly over the area to observe the river from a different point of view.

The search then resumed this morning, June 16, and was interrupted when the teenager's body was found lifeless. 

The discovery of the body 

According to some witnesses, the boy was swept away by the current of the Linificio canal, near the old power plant of the river plant, in the Milan area. The lifeless body of the 17enne was found in the right corner of the Rusca Dam, at Cassano d'Adda, in the Milan area, where in the last few hours the research had been concentrated.

Recognition in progress 

Il young 17 year old he was a resident of the area and attended a high school in Martesana. The family, devastated by grief, were notified of the discovery and went to the place.

It is in progress official recognition, but there is no doubt about the identity. The body will be made available to the judicial authorities for any medical-legal examinations, even if the accredited hypothesis is an accidental drowning.
