Washington, June 18 (askanews) – Another night of mutual attacks on the fifth day of war between Israel and Iran. And even on the diplomatic front the tension is worsening, Donald Trump is considering joining Israel's war and launching an attack against Iran's nuclear facilities, in particular that of Fordow.
On his social Truth, the American president issued a warning: "We have total control of Iranian skies" and then asked Iran for an "unconditional surrender", underlining that the United States knows the hiding place of the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. "He is an easy target, for now we will not eliminate him but patience is running out: surrender unconditionally".
He then chaired the National Security Council in the Situation Room and had a telephone conversation with Netanyahu afterward.
Khamenei's response was not long in coming, threatening in a post: "The battle has begun." According to intelligence sources, Tehran could plant mines in the Strait of Hormuz to block American warships in the Persian Gulf.
Moscow raises the alarm: "Israel's strikes are pushing the world towards a nuclear disaster. Israel must come to its senses, stop attacks on nuclear sites".
At the end of the G7, Prime Minister Meloni declared: “The objective we all want is to reach negotiations that allow Iran not to become a nuclear power”.
