In accordance to reconstructed thanks to numerous testimonies and the analysis of hundreds of images from surveillance cameras, the couple – together with the little girl – had often been sighted near Villa Pamphili and in other areas of the capital. They regularly frequented the market area of San Silverio, near St. Peter's, where they used the tables to eat and the public toilets to wash.
The name provided by Rexal Ford, a 45-year-old Californian citizen, was also registered with the Caritas soup kitchen, a detail that allowed to consolidate the man's identity. At that point, the investigations have also extended to the United States, from which – as reported by the Public Prosecutor of Rome, Francesco Lo Voi – fundamental evidence has been obtained for the identification of the suspect.
It thus emerged that the presence of the three in Italy it dated back to April 2025, although doubts remain about the methods of their entry into the country: in fact, there are no registrations on the accommodation portal.

Rexal Ford, a Californian citizen accused of killing his partner and their daughter, was captured in a photo taken on June 5, two days before the bodies were found in Villa Pamphili. The image, made public by the broadcast Who has seen?, shows the man in shorts, T-shirt and cap, while he holds the newborn baby dressed in pink.
