Adnkronos Rome, April 30 (Adnkronos) – "Salaries among the lowest in recent years, daily and incessant news about accidents and deaths at work, a gender gap that sees women earn 20% less than men and young people fleeing the country: the situation in Italy is not only alarming, it is disastrous", said Benedetta Scuderi, MEP for the Green and Left Alliance.
"In the face of all this - continues Scuderi - and the sacrosanct concerns expressed even by President Mattarella, the contribution of this government continues to be practically non-existent, and the Prime Minister's promotional videos do nothing but confirm this void of ideas and initiatives. There is no need for superficial interventions, what is needed today is to overturn employment policies, with concrete measures and a long-term vision, on a cultural and structural level".
"In Europe we are already fighting to obtain, for example, the elimination of unpaid internships and the implementation of a fair transition of skills, which includes the creation of quality jobs, protected by collective bargaining processes, participatory and not hindered, offering training also and above all to those who are on redundancy or outside the labor market. Another point that is fundamental for us for gender justice is the introduction of mandatory parental leave of equal duration for both parents. This is the approach that we have as Greens and these are the recipes that, in our opinion, allow us to truly change the scenario", he concludes.
