AIL launches its 2026 campaign on the value of nutrition

Rome, September 14 (askanews) – AIL (Italian Association against Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Myeloma) is dedicating its 2026 awareness campaign to the importance of nutrition for patients' quality of life. This is how "Let's Eat: The Importance of Nutrition in Oncohematology" was born, an in-depth video talk available on the Association's website. This discussion features experts in the field, including nutrition specialists, oncology researchers, hematologists, and patient advocates, who discuss the role of nutrition during treatment, from early nutritional assessment to managing side effects such as nausea, taste alterations, fatigue, and loss of appetite.

There's also room for false myths and unscientific diets spread online. The experts' message is clear: there's no one-size-fits-all diet. Nutritional needs must be assessed individually and supported by a multidisciplinary team. The initiative is part of a long-standing program: today, AIL offers free nutritional assistance in 19 provinces, helping approximately 900 people each year.

A concrete commitment that the Association now intends to consolidate, extending its support network to an ever-increasing number of families throughout Italy.
