Antonella Elia, post-surgery announcement: "The illness has expanded my heart."
Antonella Elia has returned home after surgery to remove a uterine tumor. The showgirl posted a video message on social media for her many fans. She wrote: " This experience of illness has made me feel so close to all of you, both my friends and virtual friends, because you have given me so much love, so much support, so much understanding, so much affection that my experience of illness has expanded my heart.
I admit: I need to feel loved. You'll say, 'You must have someone who loves you.' Sure, but this enormous love you've showered on me has made me feel protected and cared for. I hope I can communicate something true, profound, and useful, not only to me, who have enjoyed the privilege of your love, but also to sick people who are facing a difficult, painful, and serious situation—the experience of human fragility. Human fragility is beautiful, it's what I believe in most: showing yourself and your humility, your misery, your precariousness, because this is precisely what leads to solidarity, empathy, and love.” Finally, she concluded by saying : “All my friends, people I haven't heard from in years, have sent me messages. It was beautiful and this is proof that human beings are good, beautiful, spiritual, great, and know how to stay close to those who suffer. I'd like to give you all a huge hug full of love, and I do so virtually. A hug that makes us all feel supported, loved and understood.”
