Selvaggia Lucarelli and Andrea Scanzi have exchanged blows over the Denis Bergamini case. The dispute between the two colleagues has been rekindled by a post shared on Facebook by the journalist, who commented on the Fatto Quotidiano news report regarding the listing of a 65-year-old man under investigation for complicity in murder in the investigation into the footballer's death.
Scanzi shared the article titled "Another breakthrough in the investigation into Denis Bergamini's death: after 37 years, the former brother-in-law is under investigation for complicity in murder," arguing that the reported elements had already emerged over the years and were therefore not entirely new.
"All things, I repeat, that have been known and/or suspected for decades," wrote Scanzi, recalling that he had been following the story since Carlo Petrini's book, "The Footballer Who Suicided." In the post, he then described a tragic affair marked by "dishonest individuals, misleaders, and/or complacent piece-spoilers," concluding with a message of support for Bergamini's family.

The journalist reshared Scanzi's post on her Instagram profile, calling the comments "violent and unacceptable." "No one except Marco Cribari and I holds an innocent position toward Isabella, so I presume we are the dishonest, misleading, complacent piece-spoilers, some of whom are still active," Lucarelli wrote, referring to the two people who expressed favorable opinions about Isabella Internò, a defendant in the trial over Bergamini's death.
Lucarelli also reminded Scanzi that Il Fatto Quotidiano and the newspaper had published his articles on the Bergamini case.
“Crime reporting is a delicate area and we discuss content and facts, we don't insult or dismiss complex issues with populism and verbal violence,” added the journalist, before extending the official invitation to her colleague: “I invite Scanzi to come on my podcast to talk about the Bergamini case. I'll be waiting for you.”
Lucarelli finally highlighted a detail contained in the post shared by Scanzi. The journalist had mentioned Isabella Internò's ex-brother-in-law, while, according to Lucarelli, it was actually a cousin: "You know the case so well that you talk about Isabella's ex-brother-in-law, but there is no ex-brother-in-law. That's a mistake; it's a cousin."
