Bontiamo acquires dairies near Reggio Emilia

Bontiamo, the evolution of Armonie Alimentari, formalizes its brand, the acquisition of the dairies with operational entry from January 1, 2027, and a bonus for breeders validated by SGS.

The group born from Armonie Alimentari has chosen to present itself with a renewed identity: Bontiamo is the new brand that encompasses the company's offerings of Parmigiano Reggiano, butter, and baked snacks. The official presentation took place at the Tenuta di Roncolo estate in Venturini Baldini, where two key development steps for the company were announced: the acquisition of the Gavasseto and Roncadella dairies near Reggio Emilia and the introduction of a premium for farmers for the quality of their milk.

Operational entrance and plant plan

Operations at the acquired dairies will begin on January 1, 2027. The project envisions the continuation of Parmigiano Reggiano production and targeted expansion and conservation interventions at the Gavasseto and Roncadella plants. Bontiamo's supply chain also includes a farm located in the Reggio Emilia Apennines , which supplies part of the milk used in the company's production.

In recent years, the company has invested in its facilities, with particular attention to butter production and the creation of a new grating plant that will become operational after 2025.

Production continuity and recent investments

Since 2014, when the business started under the Parmonie brand , the offering has progressively expanded: Parmigiano Reggiano arrived in 2017 , while in 2019 the assortment was extended to butter.

In 2025 , a grating and packaging center was opened, strengthening the company's production and logistics capabilities. In the two years prior to the launch, the company focused resources on facilities, products, and packaging to define the industrial identity that today is expressed by the Bontiamo name.

The breeder award and independent validation

Alongside the acquisition, an award was announced to recognize farmers for the quality of their milk. The recognition will focus on those who stand out for quality, sustainability, and animal welfare, without penalizing other suppliers. The annual ranking and evaluation criteria will be defined and validated by SGS, selected to ensure independent evaluation. The regulations will be sent to farmers by the end of 2026 , with criteria known in advance and uniform for all.

Objectives of the award and evaluation method

The goal declared by CEO Gabriele Menozzi is "With Bontiamo we have found the identity in which we want to invest for the future of the company." According to Menozzi, "With the award we want to recognize the work of breeders who stand out for the quality of the milk they supply." The decision to entrust the validation to SGS ensures that the annual ranking and criteria are based on objective and verifiable parameters, reinforcing transparency towards suppliers.

Product range and technical specifications

Bontiamo's offering includes a variety of Parmigiano Reggiano cheeses: classic, red cow and brown cow varieties , and longer-aged varieties ranging from 40 to over 80 months . The range also includes products such as freshly grated cheese in resealable packaging and 24-month-aged pieces. The butter selection includes various options: classic with 82% fat, lactose-free, centrifuged butter, salted butter, organic butter, and pastry butter, available in formats ranging from blocks to professional-grade blocks.

Finally, the origins of the business remain evident in the Parmonie snacks , made with just three ingredients: Parmigiano Reggiano flour and olive oil. These products represent the company's historical starting point and remain an integral part of the Bontiamo offering, linking the Bibbiano area's dairy tradition to the new industrial and commercial strategies announced during the presentation.
