Adnkronos (Adnkronos) – The two brothers found dead late last night in an apartment in Moncalieri, on the outskirts of the Piedmont capital, had been dead for days. The victims were a 78-year-old woman, a deaf and dumb woman, and her 75-year-old brother, who had been suffering from cancer for some time. The alarm was raised by the woman's neighbors due to a strong odor coming from the apartment.
The Carabinieri, who intervened together with the 118 paramedics and the Fire Brigade, found the woman's body in the bedroom with several head wounds, most likely inflicted by a metal rod found on the floor.
Nearby, taped to a closet door, was a handwritten note left by the woman's brother, which investigators believe could be traced back to the woman's deaf-mutism, a condition linked to cancer surgery the man had recently undergone.
The man's body was also found in the same home. The investigation, coordinated by the Turin Public Prosecutor's Office, is being entrusted to the Carabinieri of Moncalieri to shed full light on this matter, which is increasingly shaping up to be a family tragedy.
