Lucrezia Ciotti Sabina Romeri, 61, a Democratic Party representative from Voghera, died after being seriously injured in a crash on the A21 between Castel San Giovanni and Stradella. The woman was struck by a truck after getting out of her car following a rear-end collision.

It occurred shortly after midnight on the highway between Castel San Giovanni and Stradella , heading towards Broni. According to initial reconstructions, three cars were involved in a rear-end collision that, at first, did not appear to have caused particularly serious injuries. The cars were carrying Bissolo, Romeri, Draghi, and a 30-year-old man.
Some of the drivers had gotten out onto the roadway to check the damage and understand what had happened, while emergency services were alerted.
Just then, a truck arrived , hitting the stationary cars and people nearby. There was nothing that could be done for the 48-year-old, while Romeri, after being intubated, was rushed to San Matteo Hospital.
Ambulances, medical vehicles, and a helicopter responded to the scene. The 30-year-old man involved in the first collision escaped virtually unharmed.

As reported by La Provincia Pavese , Sabina Romeri , 61, a longtime environmentalist and member of the Democratic Party from Voghera , died after being seriously injured in the terrible accident that occurred on the A21 Turin-Piacenza motorway during the night between Sunday 13th and Monday 14th September . The woman died on the morning of Wednesday 16th September at the Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia , where she had been urgently transferred and hospitalized in desperate conditions.
Doctors later declared him brain dead and his family authorized the removal of his organs . His death brings the death toll to two : Marco Bissolo , 48, resident of Valenza, had already lost his life in the crash , dying instantly.
Romeri was returning from the final evening of the National Unity Festival in Reggio Emilia together with Martina Draghi , 62, municipal councilor in Cigognola and member of the provincial secretariat of the Democratic Party. Draghi is still hospitalized at the Spedali Civili in Brescia , but according to reports “ her life is not in danger ”.
