In replacement of the American trip, Crosetto will participate in the summit on November 14 of the E5 format to Berlin, where he will meet colleagues from France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Poland. The meeting will be an opportunity to discuss common security and defense strategies, strengthen European industrial cooperation and consolidate support to Ukraine in an ever-evolving international context.
Among the issues on the table is also the Italy's role in post-conflict stabilization missions, such as the future training of Palestinian police forces, participation in demining operations and humanitarian support, activities that the government intends to carry out only under guaranteed security conditions.

The mission, which would have included discussions on the possible Italian membership in the PURL program – promoted by the United States within NATO for coordinate the supply of weapons to allies destined for Ukraine – was postponed to allow for internal political alignment.
The decision comes in a context of divisions within the majority, with voices like that of Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, opposed to a further increase in military assistance to Kiev, and economic concerns related to the budget law raised by the Minister of Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti.
Crosetto clarified that, despite the postponement of the trip, his work continues: he is in preparazione il twelfth package of military aid to Ukraine, which he will shortly present to Copasir, underlining that these are significant contributions to support Kiev.
The postponement of the visit to the United States does not signal a cooling of relations with Washington, but rather a strategic choice aimed at ensuring coherence in foreign policy and unity of purpose within the majority, while at the same time preparing a shared line on the PURL (Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List) program and on international initiatives.
