Portland, Maine, November 4 (askanews) – "Senator-lumberjack," as he likes to call himself, Troy Jackson, has won the Senate election for the state of Maine, on the far north coast, bordering Canada. Jackson beat Susan Collins, a moderate Republican and highly critical of Donald Trump, a true veteran of Maine politics, having served as a senator in Washington since 1997. Jackson, who campaigned on the needs of American workers impoverished by Donald Trump's policies, proudly reaffirmed his work background at the end of election night: "Well, tonight, tonight, or rather, this morning, the people of Maine elected a lumberjack to the United States Senate," he said.
