As reported by Cagliari Today , the victim is a 43-year-old German man who was involved in an accident at kilometer 118,200 of the old Strada Statale 125, in the Jerzu area of Ogliastra. In the early afternoon, while riding his motorcycle along that stretch, the rider went off the road for reasons yet to be determined.
The fall caused him very serious injuries , which proved fatal . The accident immediately triggered emergency response, with several teams responding to the motorcyclist.
Rescue efforts were unsuccessful, the Carabinieri are investigating the causes of the accident on the old State Road 125.
The 118 medical staff, the Lanusei firefighters and the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit of the Jerzu Company arrived at the scene of the accident .
To ensure prompt medical assistance, a rescue helicopter was also dispatched . Despite paramedics' interventions and resuscitation attempts, the 43-year-old man's serious injuries from the fall left him helpless. The military has begun an investigation to reconstruct the exact sequence of events and determine what caused him to leave the road. The cause of the accident remains unclear at this time.
