From diagnosis to reporting, the path of Radiology is changing

(Adnkronos) - DeepHealth, a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI)-based clinical solutions, will present its portfolio expansion during the 52nd National Congress of the Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology (SIRM), underway in Milan.

(Adnkronos) – DeepHealth, a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI)-based clinical solutions, will present its expanded portfolio during the 52nd National Congress of the Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology (SIRM), currently underway in Milan, demonstrating how increasingly connected AI can help make diagnostic imaging more proactive and efficient.

Following the acquisition and integration of the French company Gleamer, known for its AI software in the radiology field, DeepHealth – a statement states – “today brings to Italy the most comprehensive portfolio in the sector, integrating the most advanced native clinical AI technology with intelligent workflow and performance analysis capabilities for screening, diagnostics and emergency medicine.

Together, these capabilities are designed to enable healthcare facilities to improve efficiency and expand the use of AI across different care settings. DeepHealth also extends its impact across the entire imaging continuum with remote scanning capabilities, which can help increase diagnostic capacity and improve patient access to imaging.

“Artificial intelligence is expanding the potential impact of diagnostic imaging and opening up new opportunities in healthcare.

At DeepHealth, we're combining clinical AI with workflow management, automation, and operational data to create a connected, intelligent experience across the entire diagnostic journey, from image acquisition to interpretation and reporting,” says Niccolò Stefani, Business and Product Leader for Clinical AI at DeepHealth. “Our vision is to provide radiologists and medical teams with more relevant information when and where they need it, helping them make more informed decisions and supporting a transition to predictive care and personalized prevention pathways for patients.”

In Italy, approximately 70 million radiological examinations are performed each year, confirming the scope and importance of imaging in healthcare delivery. With increasing demand, public and private healthcare providers are challenged to maximize their clinical expertise and available resources while improving access to diagnostic tests. DeepHealth's modular solution portfolio is designed to address these priorities, enabling healthcare facilities to deploy AI where it can generate the greatest impact and gradually expand its use to new clinical areas. "Working with a partner like DeepHealth gives us the ability to implement AI consistently across different locations and clinical areas, while having the infrastructure needed to support its growth over time," commented the Medical Director of Emicenter Diagnostic Center in Italy. "We started with our most important clinical priorities and continued to build from there, introducing new features on a secure and scalable foundation, without having to manage an increasingly complex technology ecosystem internally."

DeepHealth, the company emphasizes, will share its vision for the future of radiology, focused on creating a single, intelligent experience for all medical professionals involved in the imaging journey. Through an integrated portfolio of native clinical AI, intelligent workflow, reporting, and remote scanning, DeepHealth aims to unite information, data, automation, and expertise for the benefit of those providing and receiving care. At the core of DeepHealth's clinical portfolio is the Radiology AI Suite, which brings together native clinical AI, intelligent workflow tools, and performance analytics solutions in a single, cloud-enabled platform. This synergy creates a more connected experience, contributing to increased diagnostic confidence and improved operational efficiency. The Radiology AI Suite supports screening and diagnostic workflows, including triage, detection, assessment, risk prediction, and monitoring for major oncology, neurodegenerative, and musculoskeletal diseases, across leading imaging modalities. With the addition of Gleamer, DeepHealth further expands its leadership in screening to include routine imaging and emergency diagnostics.

In addition to supporting image interpretation, DeepHealth – the press release details – integrates clinical intelligence directly into the radiologist's workflow. AI-generated results, along with relevant measurements, visualizations, and clinical information, are presented at the time of interpretation and reflected in reporting, helping to create a more connected reading experience. DeepHealth is also extending the value of imaging towards a more proactive care model, with capabilities ranging from image-based breast cancer risk assessment and breast arterial calcification (BAC) detection in mammograms, to coronary artery calcium (CAC) assessment on CT scans, and quantitative and longitudinal analysis of neurodegenerative diseases. These capabilities provide valuable insights to guide more proactive and personalized care pathways.

Key features of the Radiology AI Suite include: Native, comprehensive clinical AI for all modalities and clinical areas: The portfolio includes solutions for breast, thyroid, prostate, chest, brain, and musculoskeletal systems for CT, radiography, mammography, and ultrasound. For healthcare facilities and diagnostic networks, this breadth reduces the need for fragmented, single-purpose AI tools by bringing all capabilities together in a single, intelligent experience. Intelligent workflow management tools: AI coordination capabilities, an intelligent worklist, a dedicated image viewer, and report pre-population are designed to inject AI findings and relevant clinical information directly into the tools radiologists use during interpretation and reporting, ensuring greater standardization, automation, consistency, and efficiency. Performance Analytics: Analytics tools transform AI data and result patterns into actionable insights to understand usage across locations and applications. Unified Platform with Modular Integration: A secure, unified platform simplifies the deployment of AI technologies and reduces IT complexity, enabling organizations to integrate these capabilities into existing environments and extend them over time to other specialties and care settings.

The Radiology AI Suite applications, the statement concludes, are validated on a large scale in real-world clinical settings and support over 40 million AI-assisted diagnoses annually in more than 1.800 centers worldwide. In Italy alone, DeepHealth solutions support approximately five million exams annually. With over 100 clinical indications and supported by more than 500 publications, these solutions are designed to help care teams detect pathologies at an earlier stage, increase clinical confidence, and work more efficiently.

DeepHealth will also present its new TechLive technology at the conference, a secure, vendor-agnostic, multimodality solution for remote imaging and radiology management, supporting MRI, CT, PET/CT, and ultrasound. TechLive connects remote specialist expertise with imaging systems and qualified local teams, enabling the sharing of expertise across multiple locations. This can help imaging organizations support advanced exams, more effectively utilize available scanner capacity, and expand patient access to imaging, while maintaining consistent quality standards across locations. In active deployments, TechLive currently supports over 25.000 remote scans per month and has demonstrated measurable operational impact, including a 42% reduction in MRI room closures and a 27% increase in advanced breast MRI exams.
