Rome, 10 September (Adnkronos) – "On concrete matters we are building an alternative together. I am particularly happy that we have presented the same progressive coalition in the seven regions going to the polls. This hasn't happened in twenty years. I say to the right and to Giorgia Meloni, get used to it because this coalition will no longer do you the favour of dividing itself.

We will be united and compact and thus we will be able to beat them as we have already done in Emilia Romagna and Umbria". Elly Schlein said this on Tagadà on La7, live from the Marche.

"Behind me is the magnificent setting of Camerino, home to a public university founded in 1336; if I'm not mistaken, it's been here for 700 years. Meloni's right-wing coalition is cutting funding to public universities—10 million less for the four public universities in the Marche region—and what does Acquaroli, the right-wing president, do? He's decided to pave the way for the Link Private University. So, just as they're doing with healthcare, where they're cutting public funding to favor private funding, lengthening waiting lists, this right-wing coalition is doing the same thing with universities."

If you win in the Marche, what happens? "What happens is that if Matteo Ricci wins the elections on September 28th and 29th, he will become president of the Marche region and will prioritize the defense of public healthcare, which the right is cutting. I want to provide a statistic because Meloni's propaganda never mentions this figure. In 2023, 4 million Italians forwent medical care because they couldn't afford it because the waiting lists were too long. In 2024, again under the Meloni government, that number increased to 6 million. This right-wing government wants healthcare tailored to people's budgets. With Acquaroli, this region will spend €160 million on healthcare migration. Before, people came to the Marche for treatment, which was excellent. Today, however, they go to other regions, paying twice as much in taxes and travel. So, with Matteo Ricci as president, it means putting the care of our communities back as the region's top priority."
