In this process, the negative impact of youth migration represents a serious burden for our country. We must create conditions that make it attractive for young people to return.
Many would gladly return if they were offered a career and life path that would allow them to fulfill their potential. Society cannot treat young people with indifference or, worse, petty underestimation. This is a major social issue. A priority that must involve sensitive institutions and all social forces.
This was stated by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, during the ceremony at the Quirinale Palace to award the insignia to the new Knights of Labor.
"We need," the Head of State added, "a broad vision that, alongside the necessary economic decisions, proposes appropriate strategies to address the discontent, the sense of insecurity about the future that young people often feel, and the fear of subjugation or marginalization.
Even more so in these tumultuous and uncertain times."
