"If you don't send me the money...": Paolo Silletti's wife gets seven years in prison after committing suicide.

The Court of Appeal upholds the seven-year sentence for Noura Morsy, wife of Paolo Silletti, who committed suicide in 2024. The woman has been granted parental rights over her daughter.

A family affair that culminated in the death of Paolo Silletti , a 34-year-old from Santeramo in Colle, is back in the spotlight following a decision by the Bari Court of Appeal. His wife , Noura Morsy, appears to have been convicted again of aggravated mistreatment, while the judges have reportedly ordered the restitution of parental rights over the couple's daughter.

The relationship, the financial demands and the threats against her daughter

Silletti and Morsy met in Sharm el-Sheikh , where the man worked as an entertainer at a tourist resort. After their engagement, they returned to Italy together and married in Cairo in 2019 , later settling in Santeramo in Colle. According to judicial reconstruction, tensions within the couple increased in 2021 , after the birth of their daughter.

From that moment on, the woman allegedly repeatedly insulted and threatened her husband , even suggesting returning to Egypt with the child and preventing him from seeing her again. The contested demands included sums of money, the purchase of an apartment in Bari, and enrollment of her daughter in an American school in Cairo.

Morsy also allegedly spent increasingly longer periods with his family of origin in Egypt. According to the judges, this situation caused the man " a state of profound psychological prostration and terror at never being able to see his youngest daughter again ," until the tragedy in April 2024.

The 34-year-old was also remembered by his father, Erasmo Silletti , who called him " a cheerful boy who was loved by everyone ." His mother , Nicoletta , said she welcomed Morsy " like a daughter ," later claiming that the situation would change over time: " He used the child as a weapon ." The parents then reiterated their demand for justice for their son, who died at 34 after a long period of family tension.

"If you don't send me the money...": 7-year sentence confirmed for Paolo Silletti's wife, who committed suicide.

As reported by Corriere della Sera , on October 7, the Bari Court of Appeal apparently confirmed the seven-year prison sentence for aggravated mistreatment against Noura Morsy , an Egyptian citizen and wife of Paolo Silletti , 34. The sentence had already been set for 2025 at the end of the summary trial. However, the second-instance judges apparently modified part of the previous decision, restoring the woman's parental rights , which had been suspended by the court. Silletti's parents, who have joined the civil action, are represented by lawyers Giovanni Ladisi and Fabio Bagnulo.

According to the reconstruction of the proceedings, the final years of the relationship were characterized by insults, intimidation, humiliation, and requests for money . According to leaks from the Corriere , the messages acquired in the file read: " If you don't send me the money, you will never see your daughter again... I will tell your daughter that you are dead... I will beat you to the ass and you will only see your daughter with the consulate or the police... You will have to give me your salary and the house because you did not guarantee me the conditions of marriage by buying the house ."

The last message apparently arrived on April 10, 2024 : " We hate you, you're a piece of shit, we hope you die ." After reading it and having lunch with his parents, Silletti took his own life by throwing himself from the balcony of his parents' home in Santeramo in Colle , in the Bari area.
