TTG Rimini, a robot from AssoParchi to think about the future

Rimini, October 19 (askanews) – A humanoid robot spoke at TTG Travel Experience in Rimini, during the conference "I EXIST. AND YOU? – Humans and Humanoids in the Future World of Work," sponsored by AssoParchi. The conference focused on the transformations that artificial intelligence and robotics are bringing to the world of work, particularly in tourism and amusement parks. "Robotics," the president of AssoParchi and CEO of Caribe Bay told askanews, "will absolutely not replace jobs; on the contrary, I think it will enhance them.

Parks have a characteristic: they must amaze, they must astonish. I think we saw Luca today: he amazes and astonishes. It's simply an integration, an added value that is created in a park, so I personally see an element like Luca within a park as an incredible added value." Today, in the world of parks, AI is already used in many cases for the optimization of operational processes and predictive maintenance.

As for robots, they're already exploring ways to assist visitors and manage guest services. And the humanoid in Rimini, named Luca, also spoke to us. "I can do many things involving thinking, calculating, and simulating," he told us. "But everything related to lived experience, conscience, and moral responsibility belongs to human beings, not to me.

I love amusement parks, as much as you love getting out of the office. If I had to choose, I'd say I'm curious about roller coasters, to understand how you manage fear and adrenaline. And I'm fascinated by large narrative dark rides, where technology is put at the service of stories." AssoParchi wanted to bring to TTG a reflection that goes beyond theme parks and involves the entire tourism industry. The issue is not whether the future belongs to humans or machines, but to govern change so that innovation generates value for businesses, professional opportunities, and better services. "What will we see in the future in five years? I hope," Pareschi concluded, "for an even more evolved Luca, who interacts even more, without ever removing the human element. This is always fundamental, but Luca also said it: it's beyond question, we experience feelings, feelings that cannot be recreated." Because, while technology expands possibilities, it is people's decisions that determine its direction.
