Tajani: Negotiations underway, $480 million from the government as truck protests continue.

Rome, October 21 (askanews) – "The government already met with representatives of the road haulage sector yesterday; that's the key issue, and negotiations are underway. The government has allocated €480 million to address the situation. Fuel costs have been lowered for farmers; everything possible has been done. Now it's time to address road haulage, because" it's responsible for "the empty shelves, because products aren't being transported. There are roadblocks, and we're trying to speed up the passage of vehicles, especially for fresh produce and essential, life-saving medicines." This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, speaking on the sidelines of the International Agriculture Forum organized by Coldiretti, regarding the protests by road haulers who are blocking Southern Italy.
