London, August 9 (askanews) – Anti-immigrant protesters marched through the streets of London, where clashes and tensions erupted with groups of counter-protesters in front of the Britannia Hotel in the Canary Wharf neighborhood, which, according to several social media posts, is housing migrants. Far-right groups organized the demonstration, dubbed "No Asylum Day," and anti-fascist groups called for a counter-demonstration.
Police set up a cordon to try to prevent clashes and made arrests. In the footage, a man is subdued by officers after throwing an object at the counter-protesters.
